Class Rhythm

One of the important aspects of design thinking is that we stay on task and on track! It is so easy to go down the rabbit hole of getting hooked on one idea or over analyzing another. Due to this, we work hard to remain positive, defer judgement, and manage our time!

Our time together is precious and we want to make the most of it!

A typical day looks like this:
02:30 – 02:45 Honor the Gathering
02:45 – 03:15 Discussion/in-class activity
03:15 – 04:45 Team work in Chat rooms
04:45 – 05:15 Discussion on team work
05:15 – 05:30 What Went Well and next steps

Grading Scale

AB =880-929
B =830-879
BC =780-829
C =700-779
D =600-699

Assignment Overview

For each phase of the course, students will be required to provide a peer evaluation, feedback for other teams, and a short reflection paper on what was learned from the experience and how to move forward.

  1. Presentation: For each project or phase of the project, you will be required to do a team presentation.
  2. Work Canvas: Throughout the course your team will be assigned activities (worksheets) which will help you get the most out of the phase that you are working through.
  3. Peer Evaluation: This is an opportunity to help us understand how your team is working together and how we can help you move forward.
  4. Feedback for Other Teams: This is an opportunity to provide other teams with valuable information regarding their progress and steps moving forward.
  5. Reflection Paper: This is your opportunity to let us know what you think! We are interested in learning about what you learned from each stage of the process and what you plan to do next.
  6. Before each class, you will be required to provide a reflection on a reading and a video. These are intended to help advance your understanding of design thinking as well as gain key insights into all things design-related.
