Dorm Classroom Technology Contact

In most dormitory classrooms, you will not need an AV code to use the technology; however, sometimes the technology varies significantly by dorm. If you have any issues, please use the tech phone in the dorm classroom, or if there isn’t a phone in the dorm classroom, contact:

Jim O’Brien

Specific to Witte: no need to log in using your NetID; simply click enter to log in. If you cannot log into the computer, try restarting it and hitting enter on the log-in screen.

Google Groups Class Email Lists

You can set up your class email list by going to MyUW, selecting the Faculty Center, and then selecting the “Class Roster” (icon on the left). Once in the Class Roster, you’ll see an email tab at the top. Click on the tab and then you’ll see a link to “enable” your classlist. Click and then follow the prompts.

Classroom AV Access

If you are teaching in a room with audio/visual technology, you will need an AV Passcode to login to the computer in your room and use the projector. To get a passcode, you will need to complete a quick,10-minute tutorial on the technology in the room found here: https://av.fpm.wisc.edu/av-passcodes-keys/.

English Department Copiers

Each instructor will be assigned an individual copy code by the department. When picking up your office key, provide Pam Chizek with the last four digits of your Wisc ID, which you can then use to make copies on the 7th floor of Helen C. White (copy room located right next to 7191). For more information about departmental printing and copying policy, see Essential Duties of English 100 Instructors.

English Department Printers

To connect to the English Department printers on the 6th or 7th floors of Helen C. White, follow the below instructions. Please only use these printers minimally; use the copiers on the 7th floor to copy large quantities. You can download printer instructions here.

Note: For Mac users, Papercut will install all printers related to the UW system. To print from our 7th and 6th floor remote printers you will have to print only to “Release-B&W-Mobile [PAPERCUT-PRINT]Mobility”. Any other printer jobs will not show up in the release station if you print to them.
