In this example the instructor utilizes an interactive statistics eTextbook. Each week, students work on a chapter to absorb and interact with content on statistical methods. Following the reading assignment students take a short online quiz to demonstrate their ability to perform certain statistical calculations. Students are then assigned to small groups to work on case studies drawn from a variety of disciplines.

Each case study includes a problem to solve with related data. Students analyze the case and prepare possible solutions. Using Google docs each group writes a brief report summarizing their recommendations, data analysis, and how the data supports their reasoning.
