This online course exemplifies in-depth learner-to-content interactions for developing critical reading skills of complex Renaissance literature. The interactive text material was created using a free eTool that allows the instructor to include her audio commentary and other multimedia learning elements throughout the interactive readings.

Following the completion of the reading assignment, students participate in an online discussion forum and discuss their questions and insights from the reading activity with the instructor and other students. Students are then assigned to work in small groups to search the Internet and find examples of texts and images related to the themes and time period of the reading. Each group uses a blog to summarize their analysis and findings. Students are required to read and respond to the blogs of at least two other groups.
