Herbaceous Ornamentals
Introduction:
Herbaceous ornamental plants include annuals, biennials, perennials, and bulbs. They add color and interest to the landscape and compliment the structure that trees and shrubs provide. They also provide personal enjoyment and therapeutic benefits, but they require proper care to grow successfully. This module provides information that will help you select, grow, and maintain herbaceous ornamental plants suitable for specific environmental conditions.
Objectives:
After completing the reading in the manual, online module, and class activities, you will:
- Describe how herbaceous plants are different from woody plants;
- Explain the advantages and disadvantages of using perennial ornamentals in a garden;
- Explain the advantages and disadvantages of using annual ornamentals in a garden.
