How to Navigate this PressBook:

  • The Table of Contents:
    • In the top left corner of the screen is a black tab labelled “Contents.” Click this to open the Table of Contents dropdown menu. From there, you can navigate to any of the modules and sections in the book.

    • By clicking the plus button (+) to the right of a module or unit name, you can expand the contents to show each section (e.g., major topic) within. These headings are clickable and will take you directly to a section.

  • “Next” and “Previous” Page Buttons
    • At the bottom left or right of any PressBooks page are the “next” and “previous” buttons. They are in the lower red border and include a label for the previous and next pages, e.g., “Next: Start Here!” You can use these buttons to go directly to the previous or next unit without navigating back to the Table of Contents.

  • Video Features
    • Closed Captioning: This feature provides text overlays of the spoken content, aiding understanding in noisy environments or for those with hearing impairments. Look for a “CC” icon on the video player.

    • Playback Speed: Adjust the video’s playback speed to suit your preference or comprehension needs. Look for the “1x” icon on the video player.

    • Full Screen: Maximize the video to your screen for an immersive viewing experience. Look for an icon resembling two arrows expanding outward on the video player.
