2. Useful News Expressions (Jimlolin Labarai)

  • Ga labaran duniya na yau.
    → Here is today’s world news
  • Za mu kalli rahoton yau.
    → We will watch today’s report
  • Ina sauraron labarai daga BBC Hausa.
    → I am listening to news from BBC Hausa
  • Akwai cikakken rahoto kan yaƙin Iran.
    → There is a full report on the Iran war
  • Ina sha’awar wasanni da nishadi.
    → I am interested in sports and entertainment
  • Za ka iya duba duk batutuwa a shafin.
    → You can check all topics on the site

3. Reading Practice (Karatu)

Go to BBC Hausa
Try the following:

  • Click “Labaran Duniya” and read one short article
  • Identify at least 5 new words
  • Answer:
    • Menene labarin yake magana a kai?
      (What is the news about?)
    • Wane wuri aka ambata?
      (Which place is mentioned?)

4. Listening Practice (Sauraro)

Use:

  • BBC Hausa → Sauraro (Listen section)
  • Galadanchi Bello Instagram videos: @galadanchi.bello (Instagram)

Practice:

  • Listen to a short clip (1–2 minutes)
  • Repeat key phrases aloud
  • Write down words you hear

5. Speaking Practice (Magana)

Answer these in Hausa:

  1. Ina kake samun labarai?
    (Where do you get news?)
  2. Kana kallon labarai ko sauraro?
    (Do you watch or listen to news?)
  3. Wane bangare kake so? Wasanni, nishadi ko siyasa?
    (Which section do you like? Sports, entertainment, or politics?)

 

6. Practice Task (Aiki)

Write 3–5 sentences in Hausa:

Example:

  • Ina kallon labaran duniya a BBC Hausa.
  • Ina sauraron cikakken rahoto kan wasanni.
  • Na fi son nishadi.
