Hello viewers! Welcome back to our travel program. Today we will travel to Nigeria’s capital city, Abuja. Abuja is a very beautiful city and it is important politically and culturally. Today we will follow a traveler to see some interesting places in the city. With us is a commentator who will explain different things to us. Welcome!

Mai Sharhi:

Thank you very much. I am very happy to be here. Abuja is a well-planned city; the roads are wide and the city is very clean. People from different ethnic groups in Nigeria live here, so the city reflects unity and cultural diversity.

Mai Gabatarwa:
Madalla. To bari mu fara tafiyar. Ina wannan matafiyi zai fara ziyara bayan ya isa birnin?

Wonderful. Let’s begin our journey. Where will this traveler visit first after arriving in the city?

Wannan masallaci yana ɗaya daga cikin manyan alamomin birnin.

Once someone arrives in Abuja, one of the places they should visit is the National Mosque. This mosque is one of the main landmarks of the city.

The mosque has a large golden dome and its architecture is very beautiful. Many people come there to pray, but visitors from different places also come to see the impressive building and take photographs. This place shows the importance of religion in the lives of people in Nigeria.

Mai Gabatarwa:
Hakika yana da ban sha’awa. Bayan wannan, ina matafiyinmu zai tafi?

It is truly fascinating. After that, where will our traveler go?

The next step is visiting the Discovery Museum. This museum is a very good place for learning.

Mai Gabatarwa:
Me mutane za su gani a wannan gidan kayan tarihi?

What will people see in this museum?

Inside the museum there are many exhibits showing the history of Nigeria, its cultures, and developments in science. Students and children often come there to learn new things. There are also modern exhibitions that show how people lived in the past and how life has changed today.

Mai Gabatarwa:
Wannan yana da amfani sosai, musamman ga masu son ilimi da tarihi.

That is very useful, especially for people who love knowledge and history.

Mai Sharhi:
Hakika.

Exactly. After sightseeing and learning, sometimes our traveler may want to relax or eat something cold.

Mai Gabatarwa:

That’s true! Traveling can make someone tired.

Mai Sharhi:
Saboda haka za mu kai shi wani wuri mai daɗi domin cin ice cream, kamar Cold Stone Creamery.

So we will take him to a pleasant place to eat ice cream, such as Cold Stone Creamery.

Mai Gabatarwa:

Mai Sharhi:
Eh.

Yes. Here people can choose different flavors of ice cream, such as chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry. Many people come with friends or family to relax, chat, and enjoy a cold treat, especially on a hot day.

That really makes the trip more enjoyable.

Mai Sharhi:
Hakika.

Indeed. But Abuja is not only about tourist attractions. The city is also connected to artists and writers.

For example, there is a famous writer and playwright named Tess Onwueme. She is well known for writing plays that talk about culture, women’s lives, and African society.

Mai Gabatarwa:
To me yasa wannan yana da muhimmanci ga matafiyi?

So why is this important for a traveler?

If someone is interested in literature or theatre, they can visit the area where she lives in Abuja or places where literature and art are discussed. This shows that Abuja is not only a government city, but also a place where scholars and artists live and work.

Mai Gabatarwa:
Wannan gaskiya ne. Don haka a cikin rana guda, matafiyinmu ya ga wuraren addini, wuraren tarihi, wuraren shakatawa, kuma ya koyi wani abu game da adabin Najeriya.

That is true. So in just one day, our traveler has seen religious sites, historical places, recreational spaces, and also learned something about Nigerian literature.

Yes, and that is what makes Abuja interesting for visitors. The city brings together history, culture, knowledge, and modern life.
