29 Communication and reporting responsibilities

Communication with the instructor for your course is expected–with a few meetings per semester as well as weekly communication via Google Docs. We have set up a Google Doc for all classes to help facilitate communication. Given the changes that often happen week-to-week in the classes, and despite the focus on student-led tutoring sessions, it isn’t enough for tutors to have access to course materials without some instructor guidance. Please be sure to add info to the Google Doc about your session by the day following the tutoring session.

 

After every tutoring session, share the following information in the Google Doc:

  1. Who you worked with
  2. A quick assessment of how each student is doing
  3. If there are particular things that students are struggling with
  4. If you have any other questions or concerns

 

This communication allows us to be proactive in sorting out issues that may cause a student to drop out of the class.
