A Note on Organization

Siftings is an ongoing project, and we will frequently update this book with new stories. Because of this, we decided to organize the chapters and table of contents by date of publication, starting with our first publication and always ending with our most recent one. However, we want to provide readers with different ways to think about our research, so we have two additional table of contents: one is thematic and the other is chronological. Many of these chapters consider different historical themes and span several decades; therefore, readings will appear multiple times in the thematic and chronological tables of contents.
