G2.7 Deferral of Enrollment for Teach for America Participants

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese will grant a two-year deferral to applicants admitted into one of its programs if they have also been accepted into the Teach for America organization. Applicants will later need to reapply formally through the standard UW-Madison procedure, but the department will accept the reapplication and renew the offer of a Teaching Assistantship if it formed part of the original offer. In this case, re-applicants must also provide documentation from Teach for America that they have spent two years working with that organization.
