G3.17 Annual Written Assessment on Progress to Degree
- Academic programs must provide each enrolled PhD student with an annual written assessment on their progress to degree.
- Information may include, but is not limited to:
- Student self-evaluation
- Milestones completed
- Courses completed and/or GPA
- Publications, presentations, teaching requirements, and research progress
- Input from advisors, mentors, dissertation committee chairs, and advising staff
- The student must be given a copy of the written assessment as well as an opportunity to discuss it.
- If a student is not making satisfactory progress to degree, follow-up expectations must be clearly stated and shared.
- Documentation of assessments must be maintained by programs/departments.
