Бабий Яр (Бабин Яр)

Ukraine was among the countries most profoundly affected by the Holocaust. Scholars estimate at least one and a half million Jews were killed there. On this page, you will learn about Babyn Yar, a site in Kyiv that embodies the profound tragedies endured. Known as Бабин Яр in Ukrainian and Бабий Яр in Russian, this ravine was the site of one of the deadliest massacres of the Holocaust.
