Вахтанг Кикабидзе: Пожелание друзьям

In this part of the lesson, you will listen to a song by Vakhtang Kikabidze.  The title of this song is  “Пожелание друзьям”. How would you translate this tile into Russian?

In this song, you will hear many sentences with the conjunction ЧТОБЫ and third-person imperatives with ПУСТЬ. First, listen to the song and try to recognize these constructions. Then, listen to the song again and complete the exercise below, filling in the missing words in the song’s lyrics.

Note: The way some Georgians speak Russian is characterized by distinctive pronunciation and speech patterns influenced by the Georgian language. This includes variations in intonation, vowel sounds, and the articulation of consonants. The rhythm and cadence of their spoken Russian may differ from that of native Russian speakers. You can hear this beautifully distinct pronunciation in Vakhtang Kikabidze’s performance and the pronunciation of some of the other people that you will hear later in the lesson.
