Plant Pathology (Diseases) Toolkit for Success

Helpful Hints

  • There are likely new terms that you might not be familiar with. Use the Notes and Keywords pages to guide you. Again, memorization is not expected.
  • Diagnosing plant diseases is challenging! At the end of this module, you are not going to be an expert in plant pathology (please don’t be disappointed). However, you should be able to recognize what can cause plant diseases.
  • Chemical control, while appropriate in some situations, is often the last resort. By using Integrated Pest Management (IPM), plant disease can be reduced.
  • There is a Q & A with an Expert webinar on October 21st from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. with UW-Madison plant pathologist, Brian Hudelson. Remember to check the Q & A with the Experts module to get your connection link and submit your questions!
