Animated Molecules as GIF, Mp4, or H5p video

Here is a rendering generated as a GIF using PyMOL and someone’s customized rendering routine. Admittedly, this has the potential to be distracting unless the movement is very slow.

This animation was recorded using the Giphy screen-capture app and set to “ping pong” view.

The PyMOL website also emphasizes the potential to make movies using the software. Depending on Pymol’s terms of service, it would be possible to create a department Youtube or Kaltura page with these recordings embedded in them and include these animations in a Pressbooks page.
