Teaching Communication Skills Other than Writing

The ability to present an argument or communicate findings is a valuable skill for students. In many fields, answering questions about a poster or website is more common than giving a formal, spoken presentation. In addition, participating in meaningful dialogue and debate, working collaboratively in groups, or contributing to “jigsaw” discussions can all be important ways of communicating ideas and knowledge to others. In this section you will find suggestions for integrating communication skills other than writing into your course.
