Foundations to Scientific Oral Presentations
Scientific presentations are another way to communicate about your experiment to an audience. Presentations combine the visual aspects also utilized in posters into a Powerpoint presentation. The use of graphics, coupled with an oral narrative, helps to explain your experiment using the Big Four elements.
The following are some tips for Scientific Oral Presentations:
- Pay attention to what is shown on each slide! Do the graphics make sense?
- What is said by each speaker accompanying the slide? Can you utilize transitions in the visuals or the text when speaking to ease the audience into what you’re explaining?
- How do the presentation mechanisms? Are they contributing to the presentation, or detracting from it?
