Chapter 3.0. Texts of Early Colonial Laws: Introduction

This chapter includes just three texts, all concerning colonial legislation in Virginia and Massachusetts, the two earliest and most influential colonies. As noted above in Module 2, you can consult the full texts of these and of many other colonial documents at Yale Law School’s Avalon Project.
