If this is the first time you are using a RAILS lesson, we recommend that you take a look at the page About the lessons to make sure that you understand how some features of the lessons work.
This is the fourth lesson based on an interview with Maria Tendriakova. You will work with some maps and graphs, watch clips from the interview, listen to the opinions of other people from Russia, and compare the information you receive from all of those sources. This lesson consists of the following sections: Малые народы, Другие религии, Национальность в паспорте, and Заключение.
You can find the Помощник and Словарь (Другие религии и Национальность в паспорте at the end of the lesson for easy reference, but they are also available in the lesson in places where you are most likely to need them.
What You Will Learn:
In this lesson, you will learn about minority ethnic and religious groups in Russia. You will learn about the debate over the nationality section in the Russian passport. You will learn about time expressions and filler words.
This lesson includes a relatively large amount of graphically represented information, so you will have to apply your Russian skills to a genre that may be new to you in a foreign language.
