Sir John Falstaff is a popular character from Shakespeare’s Henry IV plays. He leads Prince Hal, the future King, astray in an act of sheer folly and cowardice. In Shakespeare’s plays, Falstaff is a comical character who spends a lot time drinking at the pub. In Falstaff, we see the knight with a jug of beer upon his knee, likely at the pub.
