Making and Molding

Seaweed Jug

The desire to include this particular jug was the James Dudson seaweed or carol design. The image takes on more of an abstract and minimal aesthetics of the 19th century. The collector had many duplicates of this pattern in all size and color variations.  The surface appears to have a brown enamel over a salt glaze exterior, which was a common firing technique in Britain.
