People Behind the Pots
Wedgwood
A Pottery Superstar
Potter Josiah Wedgwood began his craft at the age of 9 and progressed through the stations of pottery-making to eventually establish his own factory, becoming world-renowned for his cream-colored earthenware, referred to as ‘Queen’s Ware’ due to its endorsement by Queen Charlotte. The Portland Vase was one of his early masterpieces and was copied by several Victorian factories.
