This is the second lesson in a series of four based on the film «Власть соловецкая» by Marina Goldovskaya. In this lesson, you will watch clips from interviews with people who were prisoners at the Solovki prison camp. The lesson consists of four parts: Герои фильма, Арест, Судьба героев, and Заключение.

You can find the Помощник and Словарь at the end of the lesson for easy reference, but they are also available in the lesson in places where you are most likely to need them.

What You Will Learn:

In this lesson, you will learn what the director of the film thinks about each of the main characters. You will learn about how and why they were arrested, and about what happened to some of them after they left Solovki. You will compare spoken to written discourse, work with diminutives, and learn to distinguish personal speaking styles.
