- Kupendeza – make happy. Kujipendekeza – to try to convince people like you through various means
- Aisifuye mvua imemnyea (proverb) – literally, one who praises rain has been rained upon. You praise something you have benefited from. Good fortune is praised by those who have experienced it.
- Hayawi hayawi huwa (proverb) – eventually things happen.
- Viziavizia – reduplication of VIZIA – spy on, waylay, ambush
- Kufanyizia – to do (practise) – comes from FANYIZA, the causative of FANYA.
- Kinaganaga – thoroughly, openly. Sometimes used as KINAGAUBAGA.
- Dalili ya moto ni moshi – where there is smoke there is fire (proverb)

- Asherati – adulterer (Uasherati – adultery)
- Tapika – vomit (v.)
