  1. Kupendeza – make happy. Kujipendekeza – to try to convince people like you through various means
  2. Aisifuye mvua imemnyea (proverb)  – literally, one who praises rain has been rained upon. You praise something you have benefited from. Good fortune is praised by those who have experienced it.
  3. Hayawi hayawi huwa (proverb) – eventually things happen.
  4. Viziavizia – reduplication of VIZIA – spy on, waylay, ambush
  5. Kufanyizia – to do (practise) – comes from FANYIZA, the causative of FANYA.
  6. Kinaganaga – thoroughly, openly. Sometimes used as KINAGAUBAGA.
  7. Dalili ya moto ni moshi – where there is smoke there is fire (proverb)
  8. Wokovu – salvation
  9. Asherati – adulterer (Uasherati – adultery)
  10. Tapika – vomit (v.)
  11. Matapishi hayamezwi tena (saying) – You do not do/accept something bad again, like you would not swallow vomit.
  12. Miayo – (mwayo – sing.) – yawns
