Learning Resources that Have been Helpful to Date

  1. NIU Javanese Multi-Choice Exercise: this 45-question multiple choice exercise asks students to identify the register for the given Javanese word/phrase.
  2. NIU Javanese Gap-fill exercise: this gap-fill exercise practices reading comprehension and vocabulary. Students may use the “hint” button to get a free letter as a clue.
  3. NIU Javanese crossword activity: this activity has users fill in words in either Ngoko or Krama based on clues.

4. Quizlet: I have created quizlet flashcards for the vocabulary I have learned from Javanese: A Cultural Approach (Wheeler, 1984). Quizlet offers useful practice tools to review vocabulary.
