Xhosa: Seasons and Months of the Year

Xhosa seasons of the year (Amaxesha Lonyaka) are usually phrases that characterized the landscape, for example, the appearance of certain grasses, flowers, fruits, etc. A translation to english does not do justice to the colorful and symbolic description used by the Xhosa, where landscape and environment intertwines with idiomatic expressions used in everyday language.
